Successful Conclusion of the Rodolfo Morales Festival

The Rodolfo Morales Festival in Oaxaca, celebrated from December 20-30, showcased concerts, workshops, and cultural activities, attracting over 15,000 attendees. Highlights included theater performances and traditional folk dances.


Successful Conclusion of the Rodolfo Morales Festival

The Rodolfo Morales Festival was a highly successful event that took place in the city of Oaxaca from December 20 to 30. During these days, various cultural concerts, workshops, and popular concerts were held, attracting people from all over the city.

One example of the activities that took place during this festival was the collage workshop taught by Maestro Rolando Calderón in the Xochimilco neighborhood. This workshop, conducted in collaboration with the Municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez and the Secretariat of Culture, Education, and Promotion of Reading, attracted participants from Xochimilco and other neighborhoods in the city, who enjoyed this playful activity aimed at fostering art and the imagination of the people of Oaxaca.

Another notable activity was the presentation of the play “Recopilatorio”, performed by the Mestizo Urbano Company at the Municipal Agency of San Felipe del Agua. The community members participated and enthusiastically enjoyed this cultural work.

During the 10 days of the Rodolfo Morales Spring Festival, concerts by the state music band and marimba, as well as folkloric dances representing each region of Oaxaca, were enjoyed. Additionally, popular concerts featuring renowned musical groups such as Los Ángeles Azules and Molotov attracted over 15,000 people at each performance held at the Alameda de León.

As part of the festival, the 493rd anniversary of the elevation of Villa de Antequera to city status was also celebrated. During this commemoration, activities included morning serenades to the city and the participation of the folkloric group of Doña Genoveva Medina with the traditional Jarabe del Valle. The spectacle of colors from the airplanes of the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) also highlighted the sky of the city of Oaxaca de Juárez.

During these 10 days, art was present in various public and cultural spaces in the city with music, dance, theater, photographic exhibitions, and more, involving all family members from Oaxaca in these varied and enriching cultural activities.
